A father may feel concerned about how he will support his partner through the birth of their baby. Having a doula can lift the weight off dad's shoulders, without taking his place. It is often stated that you would not be prepared to play a football game after only a few classes, or play a concert after only a couple of guitar lessons. The same is true for supporting a mother through childbirth. Doulas are educated and experienced in labor and birth, offering support and reassurance to the father-to-be.
